Last week Geoff Dickieson invited me to the studio at CFUR to record an interview for his show “Fireside Chats.” One of my former literature students, and now CFUR manager, Geoff asked me some great questions about the literature and culture of the Romantic period in Britain.  Over a period of about two hours we talked about Blake, Byron, Keats and other Romantics, and we discussed my musical recordings of some of their poems. Once the interview has been edited, it will be broadcast over the air and online, along with several of my songs.  When I know the broadcast date I’ll announce it here. In the meantime I’m getting ready for UNBC’s annual Santa Claus Debate next Friday evening, in which I’ll be debating for the anti-Claus team by bringing my powers of literary analysis to bear upon the questionable lyrics of some favourite Christmas songs. Now I know how the Grinch and Ebeneezer Scrooge must have felt. Fortunately, the anti-Claus team always loses, as the night is capped by a visit from the jolly old elf himself. I’m ready to be booed. Should be fun.
