Blake Songs at the Coldsnap Music Festival January 24th, 2008

The Prince George Folk Festival Society is presenting its first annual Coldsnap Music Festival over the next two weekends, and Blake is on the bill for Saturday February 2nd as part of a day-long Workshop/Artist Collaboration event.  Running from 10:00am to 5:00pm, this event includes five workshops/performances.  Beginning with my own talk and performance entitled “William Blake, The Man and His Songs,” the day will also include a “Celtic Slam” jam session with the bands “Spirit of the West” and “Out of Alba,” followed by a guitar workshop with Cara Luft and a panel on how to make a career in music, and ending with a presentation by ethnomusicologist Michael MacDonald.  The cost for the whole Workshop/Artist Collaboration event is only $10; tickets are available locally at Books and Company and Studio 2880.
