Cake for Blake: Celebrating Blake’s Birthday at UNBC November 20th, 2007

Next week I will be helping the UNBC English Department to celebrate Blake’s 250th birthday by giving an informal talk about his life, art, and music, and by singing a few of his songs and showing slides of his artwork.  The event will be held on Blake’s birthday, Wednesday November 28th, at 1:00 PM, in the Senate Chambers of the Administration Building at the University of Northern British Columbia.  All are invited.  There will be birthday cake!

The past month has been a busy one.  After our gigs in Winnipeg in mid-October, Sahra Featherstone and I performed a concert of songs by Blake, Byron, and Shelley on October 26th at Cafe Voltaire here in Prince George.  As always, the place was packed, and our hometown audience was wonderful.  I was sad to see Sahra fly home to Toronto after her visit; but we are looking forward to a reunion in the spring, when we plan to record some new songs together.  In the meantime, I have a lot of rehearsing to do…
