During the past week I’ve been in London putting the finishing touches on my forthcoming book titled Transatlantic Upper Canada: Portraits in Literature, Land, and British-Indigenous Relations and doing research in the British Library for my new SSHRC-funded project on The Life and Literary Adventures of Sir Francis Bond Head. Tomorrow I will head north to the University of Lancaster to participate in this year’s international conference of the Transatlantic Studies Association, where I’ll be meeting with colleagues and a few old friends. In addition to delivering one of the conference keynote talks on Tuesday, I’ve organized four panels on Transatlantic Romanticisms, so it will be a busy and exciting conference for me. The conference organizers have put together a wonderful programme, and I’m looking forward to learning a lot and having a lot of fun. Onward and upward!
