This year I have once again accepted an invitation from the Prince George Labour Council to play music at our local May Day Celebration, which will be held on Tuesday, May 1st, in the ballroom at the Coast Inn of the North. As a union man myself, I look forward to performing classic labour songs made famous by such musical activists as Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Mavis Staples, and Billy Bragg. It will be fun to meet and mingle with reps from all our local unions here in northern British Columbia–and to sing along with them in the spirit of solidarity. Here’s wishing one and all a happy May Day.
