Diana Catherine and the Thrusty Tweeters September 1st, 2010

Last week I had the pleasure of seeing Toronto-based Diana Catherine and the Thrusty Tweeters perform songs from their new CD, “The Spirit Ranch Sessions,” at The Art Space in Prince George.  It was fun to watch the gorgeous and energetic Diana croon, growl, and otherwise belt out her unique blend of southern rock and R&B.  Songs like “4 Leaf Clover,” “Walk,” and “Old Dog” showcased the impressive talents of band members Matt Blackie (drums), Kevin Robinson (electric guitar), and Mark Wilson (bass).  Best of all, I had the pleasure of hosting Diana and the band for a couple of days at my place on Ness Lake, where they re-charged their batteries (and played poker and did laundry) before leaving to perform on the main stage at the Music on the Mountain Festival in Fort St James last Friday.  Check out Diana and her band at www.dianacatherine.com.  If you ever have a chance to see them perform live, I highly recommend taking in the show.
