NASSR 2015 and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights August 9th, 2014

This month I accepted an invitation to speak next summer at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg.  The event is being organized by the North American Society for the Study of Romanticism (NASSR) as part of its 2015 conference on “Romanticism and Rights,” which will be held at the city’s historic Fort Garry Hotel.  Conference activities will include among other things a field trip to the newly opening museum, where I will join a plenary panel on Indigenous rights and education, two key themes in the book I’m currently writing.  Needless to say, I’m very excited about this opportunity, for it will enable me to speak about issues close to my heart.  Check out the websites for the conference and for the museum, respectively, at http://nassr2015.wordpress.com/ and http://humanrights.ca/about-museum.
