NASSR 2014 in Bethesda MD and Washington DC July 3rd, 2014

I’m busy preparing for next week’s annual meeting of the North American Society for the Study of Romanticism (NASSR), which will take place in Bethesda, Maryland, and at the Library of Congress in nearby Washington, DC.  Among other activities, I’ll be participating on a panel entitled Cultural Exchange and Collaborative Networks, where I’ll present some of my research on the 19th-century Mississauga Chief Kahkewaquonaby (also known as Peter Jones), focusing on his activist work with the American Methodist Episcopal Church and the Aborigines Protection Society.  I also look forward to meeting some old friends and hearing what they’ve been working on since last year’s NASSR conference, and, as a first-time visitor to Washington DC, I hope to find a bit of time to explore some of the city’s major historic sites.
