« Thoughts on the perfect song, and Scott Cook’s “Pass It Along” Ojibwe Cultural Foundation talk »

Notes from London September 8th, 2013

For the past ten days or so I’ve been in London, England, by day occupying my usual place (seat number 303) at the British Library, where I’m doing research for my latest book project, and by night walking the streets in search of a song, a good pub, and a decent curry.  Today, being Sunday, the library was closed, so I wandered over to Bankside on the Thames where there were some young buskers and street performers plying their trade despite the “No Busking” signs posted about.  Put me in mind of the time, longer ago than I care to admit, when I was kicked out of Quebec City for illegal street-singing.  Power to the people who only want to play!
