“Doors of Perception”: An Evening with William Blake November 24th, 2008

In order to ring in Blake’s 251st birthday in style this year, I’ll be co-hosting a birthday celebration this Friday evening at the Vancouver Public Library.  Since the poster for the event includes a nicely informative blurb, I’ll simply quote it here:  “Join author / recording artist Kevin Hutchings and poet Susan McCaslin for a celebration of Blake’s life, poetry, visual art, and song.  Kevin Will perform selections from his CD Songs of William Blake, show slides from Blake’s artwork, and tell stories that inspired his book Blake’s Environmental Poetics.  Susan will read from her award-winning collection Letters to William Blake and reflect on the transforming presence of this “luminous companion.”  The event is scheduled for Friday, November 28 (Blake’s birthday), from 7:30 until 9:00PM in the Alma VanDusen and Peter Kaye rooms at the Central Library, lower level, 350 West Georgia Street in Vancouver, Brtitish Columbia.  Admission is free and seating is limited.  I’m hyped!
